LOCATION  Around 10mins in a taxi from the airport and taxis are readily available from outside the airport. Just follow signs to the taxi stand. You do get a lot of aeroplanes flying over but noise is not too bad with the doors closed. ROOMS  We had a Junior suite on the 4th floor which included afternoon tea (3.00-5.00) and evening canopes (7.00-9.00). These consisted of sandwiches, wraps, fruit and pastries. Evening canopes also included alcoholic drinks so worth it if you like a drink. Good size room with a free to use safe, kettle, fridge and 2 small water bottles every day. Also iron and ironing board plus a hairdryer. Plenty of storage space and a balcony. Shower has decent power and water temperature was good. Also two dinos and a bathtub. The balcony was big enough to relax in with 2 chairs and a small table. WIFI  Free and pretty good around most of the hotel. We were on the 4th floor and still good as well as around the pool, restaurant and reception. FOOD We only had breakfast and pretty basic but did the job as we tend to have just eggs anyway. The good thing was breakfast was open 6.30 until 10.30 so plenty of time. POOL  A small pool on the 6th floor with ten sunbeds around it. If you prefer a lot of pool time this probably won’t be ideal for you as very little space. GYM  Good size for a hotel with decent equipment in good working order. Sauna The sauna was free to use with good changing room facilities and lockers. Also separate sauna for men and women. STAFF  All staff were great. Friendly and helpful and spoke English. Definitely a credit to the hotel. OUTSIDE THE HOTEL Plenty of shops and food places close by. Turn left from hotel entrance, cross the busy road and Abu Baker Metro is a 5 min walk. Also behind the metro there are loads of food places. Turn right outside the entrance and one minute walk to KFC and Pizza Hut. Also taxis readily available outside and a supermarket down the road to the left. OVERALL  Probably a 3.5-4 star based on Dubai standards. As we got out the lift to our room the area outside the lift smelt damp/mouldy at times - I guess the carpets need a good deep clean. Floor 6 must be the smoking rooms as you can smell it walking to the pool (also on floor 6). It offers decent facilities and a super location. Not too much for small kids to do but ideal for adults and older children as a base to explore Dubai. There is a bar/club area downstairs but you don’t hear the noise.

Had a wonderful experience in Avani hotel. The pool and gym is really wonderful. Mr. Christy and Mr. Gayan helped a lot. Will visit again for sure.
